  24. ©Edwin's Power Tools is an Excel Add-In which adds useful functions 
  25. to Microsoft Excel. It is a cross-platform add-in, which means it 
  26. is fully compatible with both the Apple Macintosh and Windows PC. 
  27. Besides, it is compatible with Excel 5 and Excel 7.

  29. Please do NOT distribute modified versions of Edwin's Power Tools. 
  30. Also, please distribute the shareware as a complete package, i.e.
  31. including all the files in its original archive(s).

  36. Edwin's Power Tools is a shareware; it is NOT free. (I’ve invested
  37. plenty of time and effort designing, programming, testing, and
  38. debugging it in the last 9+ months!) If you use Edwin's Power Tools
  39. for more 15 days, you MUST pay a $30 registration fee. To register,
  40. please fill-in the registration form provided in Edwin's Power Tools
  41. and send in the finished form together with the registration fee.
  42. I accept most currencies, as well as cheques issued by banks in Hong
  43. Kong, US, and UK. Or, if you didn't have access to the Add-In, just
  44. send me your name, e-mail address, postal address, the registration
  45. fee, together with the following statement with your signature :

  96. Edwin's Power Tools can be used with the following Microsoft Excel 
  97. versions:

  99.      5.0 - 32-bit Windows (Microsoft Windows NT 3.x)
  100.      5.0 - 16-bit Windows (Microsoft Windows 3.x)

  105. Installation

  107. Edwin's Power Tools should (best) reside in the Microsoft Excel
  108. Library directory. The path to this directory is different depending
  109. on which version of Excel you are running.
  110.  
  111. For Windows users :
  112.  
  113. For standalone Excel 5.0, you will find the LIBRARY directory 
  114. directly under the EXCEL directory (for example, C:\EXCEL\LIBRARY).
  115. For MS Office and Excel 7.0, you will find the LIBRARY directory 
  116. under the MSOFFICE and EXCEL directories (for example, 
  117. C:\MSOFFICE\EXCEL\LIBRARY).

  121. For standalone Excel 5.0, you will find the Macro Library folder 
  122. directly inside the Microsoft Excel 5 folder (for example, Hard 
  123. Disk:Microsoft Excel 5:Macro Library).
  124. For MS Office 4.2 or 4.2.1, you will find the Macro Library folder 
  125. inside the Microsoft Excel 5 folder (for example, Hard Disk:Microsoft 
  126. Office 4.2.1:Microsoft Excel 5:Macro Library).

  128. To Install Edwin's Power Tools (shareware version) --
  129.    1. Copy EPT.XLA, EPTPART.XLA, NUM2TXT.XLA and REG_CODE
  130.       into the Microsoft Excel Library Directory.
  131.    2. Run Microsoft Excel.
  132.    3. On the Tools menu, select Add-Ins.
  133.    4. Check the "Edwin's Power Tools" checkbox.
  134.       (If you couldn't find the checkbox, locate EPT.XLA by
  135.        pressing the "Browse" button.)
  136.    5. Click OK.

  144.   A new function “EPT Number->Text” has been added, which
  145.   translates numbers into English text. (In the registered version),
  146.   this function appears both in form of a worksheet function
  147.   (EPTNUM2TXT) as well as a function on the EPT menu.

  149.   A new Edwin’s Power Tools Tool Bar has been included (registered
  150.   version only). Functions of EPT can now be accessed from the tool bar.

  162.   Fixes a problem which causes some of the Excel 5 for Windows
  163.   to quit unexpectedly while EPT is trying to modify the shortcut
  164.   menus. This problem also causes a "Not enough memory to start
  165.   Excel" error while trying to launch Excel again. Excel cannot
  166.   be restarted without restarting Windows. This problem is not
  167.   caused by errors in the VBA codes but by the inconsistency of
  168.   Excel 5 across the PC and Mac platforms.
